HRC Viasna is the leading human rights organization working to promote the rule of law and respect for human rights in Belarus. HRC Viasna is also an important source for independent objective information.
In 2008, Ales Bialiatski on behalf of HRC Viasna, was honored with NHC´s Andrey Sakharov Freedom Award for his outstanding work to promote human rights. Ales Bialiatski was also honored by The Norwegian Authors’ union and got the prize Freedom of speech in 2011.
Valentin Stefanovich is one of the leaders of HRC Viasna, and an expert on international law and human rights documentation.
Vladzimir Labkovich is one of the leaders of HRC Viasna, and an expert on election observation and international human rights law.
I am, xxxx, a Norwegian author, and I am deeply concerned by the persecution of Ales Bialiatski, Valentin Stefanovich, Vladzimir Labkovich and that of HRC Viasna´s other staff. I seriously doubt the legality of the persecutions.
